Apt-fast an apt-get with multiple download sources of packages, see how to download the apt-get packages in Ubuntu and Debian from multiple sources at the same time.


Using various sources of download of the apt-get packages it is possible to achieve extremely larger download speeds 26x larger.

Ubuntu 14.04 and newer

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:saiarcot895/myppa

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y install apt-fast

Ubuntu 11.04 ~ 13.10 (old)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:apt-fast/stable
sudo apt-
get update
sudo apt-get -y install apt-fast


Choose the maximum number of connections you want to open at the same time, choose between 2 to 7 connections.


Also select if you want to see apt-fast warning when using, you can select No  for this Notice.

List of official UBUNTU and DEBIAN repository .


Edit the apt-fast file.conf with the command:  sudo nano /etc/apt-fast.conf


Replace the list with Brazilian mirrors or create your own list of mirrors.

Using apt-fast


After installed, to use APT-FAST replace apt-get with apt-fast


see some commands:


sudo apt-fast update 
sudo apt-fast upgrade 
sudo apt-fast install nginx 
apt-fast install apache2


Remember that to use other repositories in apt-fast you need to add in  /etc/apt-fast.conf
